Saxon Ares - Ukko

Post by dcrunkle » Sat Jun 15, 2013 3:11 pm

My pup arrived Thursday evening, and after a very long drive home in torrential rain, he reached his new home and met his new pack. I could not be more pleased. He is loving, crazy smart, friendly, and playful. Still figuring out his call name. But here are some pics of him during is first couple days home.

And he has a call name! I give you Ukko, the Finnish god of Thunder and Rain. It seemed appropriate after he gave me a heart attack today when he disappeared and I found him outside enjoying a thunderstorm. LOVE this dog.

Congrats on the name. The last picture looks like he's saying "treats go in here, please make your deposit."

Lovely photos and great name! Zora (his older sister from last year's litter) did the same thing - she really doesn't mind rain or thunder at all. :D

Pete, he is a smiler, a laugher, a digger, and the king of my heart! He is very happy here, despite the teething! Today he brought me a ball to play fetch. Been trying to teach him since I have always wanted a fetcher and neither of my dogs ever showed any interest. He's happy and active and doing great.

Ukko continues to do great. He's getting less nervous about the crate and car rides, gets along fabulously with every dog he's met, is patient with little kids, and a total jokester. He’s a sweet heart and getting bigger every day. I have to remind myself he is still a puppy! It’s been really hot and humid here, and Ukko has realized that the fan is his new best friend, he sleeps right in front of it. I went inside to make them breakfast this morning and he decided to alternate between playing in the puppy pool and with a doggie bed mattress I had brought outside to clean yesterday. What you can’t really see in the photos is that his feet are wet and muddy. But you can see the gapping hole he put in the lining of the bolster pillow! So happy with his new toy.

If you switch the first photo and the second photo's position it would look like a sequence from calm to howling time

One is Evil. It’s anger, jealousy, greed, resentment, inferiority, lies and ego.
The other is Good. It’s joy, peace, love, hope, humility, kindness and truth.
