Are there any Winter Winter ( confusing I know  ) pictures? Or does he merges with the snow?

So we'll get to see if he blends into the snow, right? 8-)

You don't have any snow yet? We still have almost a foot and we've had a grand total of like... 30 inches lol. Is it fairly warm there?

He does like mud yes
There was some snow several weeks back but not everywhere in the Netherlands, and I live near the sea so unlucky! It is certainly warm for this time of the year, just under 10 °C.

Almost a foot? Awww, i so live in the wrong place... No snow hear either :( It only snowed a few inch last year and for only one day too. I'm worried about the future of our snow :?

Looking forward to see how winter looks in snow in contrast to the other colour variations :D

Easier to see that overlay he has now, although he still blends into the snow really well.

He's very pretty, but I wonder if he would actually be a good breeding dog or not, since white/creme isn't part of the breed standard?

I have always loved winters white coat and light eyes, I hope some day it could be added to the standard - which is still in progress, and I assume one day will be more incorporating of all the varieties that tams come in

Would having more colors added to the standard take away from the wolfy look of the breed?

Only if we allowed 'liver' and 'blue' colors... there are naturally 'white' wolves: Arctic Wolves. So the white-grey color would be acceptable IMHO. Personally, I am in favor of adding this new white-grey color category as we already have quite a few 'light' Tams (from cream, like Winter, to very light, such as Summer and Mika, etc) that could more easily 'fit' into such a category, as opposed to the blanket 'wolf-grey' category.

but Winter is completly different from the light wolfgrey Tams, he is actual white (recessive red) putting him in the same color category as the light wolfgreys doesn't make any sense

I don't like it btw but I don't like white dogs at all

I've seen photos of wolves that are what I would term as "silver" and they are more of a "white-gray" but even arctic wolves aren't pure white most of the time, they usually still have some light gray or cream grizzling on the back and side. Also, what species of wolf is the Tamaskan supposed to look most like? Is it supposed to be a gray wolf? Even then, is it supposed to look more like North American gray wolves or European gray wolves? I think it's difficult to say what colors to add or even what other changes or updates the breed standard needs/could have without knowing what kind of wolf the Tamaskan is supposed to look like and having a clear understanding of what that is and what natural variations occur within that species.
