The Independent Dog Association - Dog Show (27 June 2010)

Post by claireyclaire » Fri Jun 18, 2010 8:50 pm

When we attended Discover Dogs last year, we bumped into some lovely people who had some gorgeous looking Northern Inuits, they explained that they were part of the TIDA organisation which is a group of people that have a love and interest in wolf-lookalike breeds, they are not interested in politics and want like-minded people to join together to celebrate all of these breeds.

They hold 4 shows a year, we attended the last one in Dorset and everyone was very friendly and welcoming. They are holidng another show in Milton Keynes on 27 June.

They have classes for alll wolf-look alikes and seperate classes for NI's and Utes, they have said that if enough Tam owners started to attend they would consider having Tam classes in the future.

Here are the details, but more info can be found on the website

Just thought I would give you a quick update on todays show!

We had a lovely (hot!) day in Milton Keynes, we met up with Gary and Annette with Onai and Annu. Everyone was really friendly and some people recognised us from the previous show and came over to say hello, I think more to the dogs than us :D

We had quite a successful day between us, Elska came 2nd in the 6-12 month Wolf-lookalike Puppy, Tala came 4th in Wolf-lookalike bitch, they also had a companion class which Tala again came 4th, but she came first in the Prettiest Bitch class which was quite big!

If we could get more Tamaskans to attend these shows they have promised that they would hold Tamaskan classes, it's a lovely chance to catch up and chat, we even had a lovely picnic where Annette and I treated ourselves to some wine and Pimms! Well it was 30 degrees what else would we do!

Think we may have some pics of the dogs together, will try and upload!

So what is the official term for a group of Tamaskans? After today I think it should be a Tangle!!! They really love each other

Any idea who is who!!???

Glad to hear it was a good day and that the girls did well.
Lovely pics and I agree, a "tangle of Tamaskans"/"tangle of Tams" seems a perfect description & rolls off the tongue :D

Congrats Claire and doggies! :)

Sounds like a very nice event indeed.

Unfortunately we found out about it a bit late and we already had plans for this weekend,
but we might be interested in attending in the future, if it's not too far away etc. :)

There were about 600 photo's taken by the TIDA photographer, so rather than posting them 3 photo videos were created.

Part 1 is the TIDA Breed classes
Part 2 will be the Companion Breed classes
Part 3 will be the Novelty classes.

Here are the links to YouTube if you want to do a bit of Tam-Spotting!

So jealous... I wish we had more events like that here in Croatia!
