Anyone have an estimate? Also when will the Tamaskan become a recognized breed?

There is absolutely no way of knowing how many breeders there will be and hopefully there wont be a lot of them ;) Also we are in no rush at all to have this breed recognised. There is discussion about this somewhere else on this forum. :D

We are not trying to get the breed recognised. hopefully not for the next 15 to 20 years at least

It all depends, by 2020 (10 years from now) there could be another 100+ breeders... or only 10. It's impossible to say. The priorities of ethical breeding practices, good health, sound husbandry, etc all ensure quality over quantity so (hopefully) there won't be too many breeders. I don't mind if there are 10,000 reputable (good) breeders... I'd sooner take that, than 100 puppy farmers!!

Realistically speaking, I expect there'll be about 10-20 new breeders worldwide... but it's impossible to say for certain.
Hopefully the breed won't be recognized for a long while yet... that way we can focus on fixing breed traits / characteristics and work on healthy bloodlines. IF it became recognized NOW, it would be pure chaos. Everyone just breeding and doing their own thing without any ethical considerations whatsoever (puppy mills, etc) just trying to make a quick profit.
