Bodie; Highnoons ulan bator

Post by RoyAM » Mon May 10, 2010 10:51 pm

I lost my first Malamute last year at this time and it broke my heart holding and resting his head in my lap and petting him at home as the vet gave him his last injections.

This will come to us all and I feel when the time comes, it should be done at home in his own comfortable emvironment with his/her owner holding and petting all through the sad time. It is your final respect and a thing that must be done for all these loyal years

Bodie; Highnoons Ulan Bator
Sire; Malsabout Golden Dream of Highnoons
Dam; Highnoons Panamint

my special boy

these words helped me at this time;
Letter from Bodie to Roy

If it should be that I grow weak,
and pain should keep me from my sleep,
then you must do what must be done,
for this last battle can’t be won.

You will be sad, I understand,
don’t let your grief then stay your hand,
for this day more than all the rest,
your love for me must stand the test.

We’ve had so many happy years,
what is to come can hold no fears,
you’d not want me to suffer so,
the time has come please let me go.

Take me to where my needs they’ll tend,
and please stay with me to the end,
hold me firm and speak to me,
until my eyes no longer see.

Please do not grieve it must be you,
who has this painful thing to do,
we’ve been so close, we two these years,
don’t let your heart hold back the tears.

Beautiful poem... he was a lovely, great big teddy bear. RIP Bodie.

Lovely poem. Floods of tears. So apt.

We lost our beloved Holly (GSD) a month ago, she also went peacefully at home - in the conservatory looking out at the garden she enjoyed - with her head in my lap.

Thanks for sharing.

It is a lovely poem, but not good to read when you are at work! Bit unprofessional to sit and cry at your PC, especially when you are actually meant to be reading something work related.

I am soooo very sorry for your loss. It is sooooo unfair that dogs do not have life spans like humans............. I hate it.

This is now 2 years and I still think about my loyal Malamute daily, he is the big boy that sits next to me in the avator pic.

as most of you know we now have 3 new malamutes and you would not believe the amount of times I get our new boy Dakota's name mixed up and keep calling him Bodie

Time helps but the love remains

There’s a battle between two wolves inside us all.
One is Evil. It’s anger, jealousy, greed, resentment, inferiority, lies and ego.
The other is Good. It’s joy, peace, love, hope, humility, kindness and truth.

The wolf that wins? The one you feed!
