I've been going through many breeder sites and they all emphasize that the Tamaskan is no dog for novice dog owners and prefer experienced dog owners, preferably with huskies or GSDs. However, I've also seen people having Tamaskans as their first dogs on this forum, so clearly no prior experience is not a deal breaker.
So I was wondering, if a first time dog owner inquired about a Tamaskan puppy, what steps should he/she take to get over the fact that they do not have any prior experience with dogs? A breeder I spoke to told me that outcross pairings especially with more biddable breeds like GSDs may be better suited for first time owners.
What would make you consider a first time owner for a Tamaskan?
