Wolf abuse in Turkey...

Post by Sylvaen » Mon Jun 07, 2010 10:29 pm

Animal abusers in Mus (a city in eastern Turkey) captured a wild wolf, chained it up by its rear leg, and let their dogs attack and kill the helpless animal. The wolf's slow agonizing death was filmed while onlookers cheered and laughed at the "entertainment" - as the wolf cries in terror, there is another (almost dead) wolf in the background. http://weibel.blog.de/2009/03/10/helft- ... i-5731833/

This video is very disturbing and sad. If anything it's WORSE than fighting pitbulls because here the wolf is tied up. SO sick and SO cruel. I can't believe there are people out there who think this is fun or entertaining. PURE EVIL.

Please sign the petition to put a stop to this cruelty in Turkey:

I have signed the petition, but I don't know if I am being over-sensitive here,
but I can definitely not watch the video, and just your description of it has set me to tears.
I understand that you want to reach out to people to sign it, but I really did not want to know exactly what had happened,
as I am quite upset right now. I am aware that the world is cruel and hard, it is just very horrible to hear about it.
Sorry if I am being silly.

I totally agree with you Mylingen. I have also now signed the petition but there is no way that I could watch the video.

I watched the video, and wished I hadn't. It's not terribly gruesome / gory... (thank god) just really depressing and sad. The wolf is clearly exhausted and terrified, trying to fight back but there are too many dogs - it doesn't even have a fighting chance. I just can't understand how people can watch, partake, film and LAUGH at such horrific cruelty going on right in front of them. There's a whole crowd of people involved. If I were there, I'd go absolutely ballistic. People would get hurt if not killed, I'd make sure of that... if they can even be called people. Complete primitives. :(

I also have signed, I wouldn't watch the video because it's just too cruel.
If only someone could tie them up and have them be attacked by dogs and let them see how funny it is then

My brother also signed it.

okay--not sure how this goes exactly but there's a really nice quote out there:

People like this should be killed by their own dogs, that they used to kill that poor, terrified wolf. If I would've been there, I wouldn't have been afraid to beat of one these idiots to -near- death, and I'm a girl....... these kind of things, totally pointless animal abuse, over a poor innocent animal put me out of myself!!!!

I signed, but despite normally not being very sensitive (I made it through Earthlings, if we put it like that...), I know I will regret it if I watch that video.

To my signing the petition, I added -
Humans are the only creatures on the planet who knowingly hurt other creatures, knowing it to be pain. Humans are the only creatures who kill and torture for fun. Wolves and all other animals only do what they have to in order to survive. The only true evil in the world is people like these.
Edit: Noticed just now that this thread is very old, so I guess my signing was rather pointless. :| But my point remains.
