Tool (Easter Egg)

Post by Sylvaen » Sun Feb 06, 2011 12:14 am

I'm not sure how many people here are Tool fans but the band is definitely on my Top 10 list. Anyway, for those who might not know about it... there's a hidden Easter Egg on the 10,000 Days album, which I only recently discovered.

A virtual Easter egg is an intentional hidden message, in-joke or feature in an object such as a movie, book, CD, DVD, computer program, web page or video game.

If you play 3 separate songs in a specific order, you'll hear hidden lyrics that fit together perfectly into one epic awe-inspiring piece of music. Alternatively, you can just click this link to hear the songs played in the specific sequence:

If you like Pink Floyd (another of my favorites), you'll probably like Tool ;)

hehe I've been a Pink Floyd fan since before I was born (My mom went to a concert while I was still in the womb! ) In 2008 I went to Roger Waters "Dark Side of the Moon" concert in the Netherlands and I already have tickets for this year's Roger Waters "The Wall" concert in May. Can't wait. :D

I just find that Tool is very similar to Pink Floyd - both are quite psychedelic and progressive, though Tool is more metal based and Pink Floyd is more rock. My favorite Tool albums are Ænima and 10,000 days. As for Pink Floyd, of course: The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, and The Wall are my favorites but I also love "Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun" from the Saucerful of Secrets album. :)

Tool has many influences but you can definitely hear Pink Floyd mixed with The Melvins (another of my favorite bands) lol

Check out their albums, I think you'll like them. :D

Wow that's awesome I think have 3 or 4 of tools albums but didn't know about the Easter egg on the 10,000 days album unfortunately all that I have left of my main computer is the Hard Drive so I can't access my music, I have something like 4000 or 5000 tracks of all types of music on there.

Cheers Sylvæn

Woah! that's allot of audio, I couldn't get that many tracks in 80 gig I store all my music in a lossless .WMA or .wav format cause I can hear high pitch sounds extremely well the low bit rate of MP3 or some of the other file compressions I find irritating and sounds terrible. so I need a big HDD
