Arctic Quest

Post by dash » Sat Jan 15, 2011 9:59 pm

Have'nt been online for ages as have had a pretty big change in my life. We now run a husky ride business in Gloucestershire - http://www.arcticquest.co.uk
The business is going really well and we also managed to persuade Centre Parcs that husky rides was an attraction they needed. They have proved husgely popular and the dogs are the real stars.
So I now have a pack of 5 of which Dashka is the lead dog. She is a brilliantly clever girl and senses just how she should be around people. She leaves the Sibes for dust when it comes to brains.

here's a taste of what we do:

Welcome back, was just asking Lynn the other day where you had got to..... great to hear about your doggy business, well done :)
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,

Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

Yea it is really cool and I do feel pretty lucky. We did struggle to find an insurance company that would insure novices to ride, as you get to do it yourself - it's not a sit on look at the scenery type of ride. Luckily we are very busy!!
I wish we could get to race, but weekends are taken up with other people enjoying running the dogs!!!

Sounds like a great job, working with the dogs in the winter and have the summers off!
