Sierra Kaweah (Wylie)

Post by Katlin » Mon Jan 28, 2013 9:35 am

After over 7 hours in the air Wylie is home. He is happy, adores the cat, and knows I'm "mom". He follows me everywhere and loves toys haha. Anyways here's the wee man!

Thanks everyone. I must say, he's cute, but he's got a voice on him! When I woke up at 6am to take him out he whined and howled while I got ready and there was no stopping him. It also sounds like you're murdering him when he's playing cause he "play yelps"...something we're going to have to train out of him because it scared the crap out of me when my friend Steph flipped him over and he screamed.

He seems to be very good with holding it and loves to sleep at my feet as well as in the kennel (after a few "shuuushhh"es).

OOOHHH, soo sweet. I guess I'm partial as he reminds me so much of my boy. You had asked what Max looked like as a "baby" as both started out so dark Here's Max at 4, 6, and 7 weeks:

He's super smart too! I weighed him today, 18.1 pounds :P that's a lot of puppy haha.

Max sure lightened up! I don't think Wylie will lighten as drastically as that but he will definitely change in color.

How old? :)
We have a puppy around the same size (a bit more I suspect) which is 10½ week old (female)
could be fun to see how they differ although not being the same breed ^^

He has socks! He's a lovely looking boy, ears look nice and small too. Sam's were huge! (Still are when hit with the wrong camera angle  ), didn't stand up till about 10/11 weeks old.

I'm thinking he'll keep the mask to be honest. That said I really don't know, you never really do ;) His eyes are a chocolate / expresso color but I love them the way they are :D

I'm very happy with him! Thank you everyone for the compliments.

Here's Wylie today at 10 weeks, this is so you can kinda see how big he is compared to me (I'm 5'3ish)

He is so cute and like those paws :) when Loke was small we also learned "paw" and "other paw" i'm really amazed how quick they learn things. Some tricks can take up to 10-30 mins to learn and others only a day ^^

What picture spam? Post away! There are never enough puppy pics to go around. ;) Plus, I love your boy...very interesting coloring and I'm very interested to watch his color change as the days pass.

Plus, the 2nd to last action shot is probably my favorite so far - too cute! :D

He does look like a cat there, would you believe that's a howl?! He likes to "scream" or howl with his mouth WIDE open...I swear it can shatter glass.

The teeth shot was pure luck. I had my long lens (55-300mm) on my camera so I was across the house and happened to get it  as for his color, I love it too! I always wanted a red male like Avak or Ookami but I must say that I am very bais towards my boy now. From the front (IMHO) he almost looks like a black phase shepherd with tan legs lol!

It looks like he has such a fun personality. I can definitely see the resemblance between him and Mowgli. Will be fun to compare them as they grow - they're not too far apart in age. :)

I'm thinking his coat might lighten up and he'll lose some of the black cloak overlay on him right now...something similar to Hawthorne's Raven. At least, that's what I'm hoping...and get to see that nice red come out. :D

Lol. I find it amusing since Mowgli is Wylie's uncle. Haha... I do agree that these two boys look alike - must be from his daddy's side (Darwin). I think I saw someone mentioning Mowgli looks a bit like Darwin when he was a pup.

Wylie at 3 months old. He looooves the cold weather and had his first real snowfall today, so much fun!
