My boyfriend wanted to buy a dog to become his new gundog, his last gundog a collie x red setter cross died a few years ago.
He has fallen in love with a Zuul puppy and decided that this will be his new retriever. I said simply 'good luck with that' and so here she is..... our new gundog, Rifle.

The plan now is to sneak her in with Geri's pup that is going to Aus and hope that Geri thinks its one of hers and they can all live happily in the same kennel (Rifle being mainly a house dog of course) she is very spoilt already and crys for her daddy to take her out of the puppy box whenever he goes in the kitchen.

Pretty girl and I love the name, oh and good luck with the retriever-ing...i'm very interested to hear how that goes as my uncle thinks mine would have been pretty good if i'd trained them from being pups!

Some updates of Rifle.
While she hasnt begun her training yet I am getting a better picture of her character and I think she will be a total nightmare to train lol.
She isnt food motivated and she isnt interested in human interaction (cuddles and playing) at the moment, she is much more interested in her duck and nothing else..... still, she is only young and at least she loves to pick things up and carry them around, I guess thats a start.

She is a cutie, but good luck on the retrieval part Saga will chase and retrieve a ball sometimes, I always throw it in the direction I am walking as she will only do it a few times then look at me as if to say "you threw it, you get it!" Her idea of retrieving from water is to wait till another dog goes in and gets the stick or ball and wait for them to bring it back to the bank then pinch it and run off with it

You can train for the retrieve, it doesnt have to come naturally, but it does make it easier if they like to pick things up and hold them....
