Yngwie (Saxon Radomir)

Post by NielsDenmark » Wed Apr 11, 2012 12:45 pm

Just a few pictures of our precious little rascal - Saxon Radomir, whom we call Yngwie (means "First Man" in old-norse). He's from the Bulgarian Mountains litter, sired by Odin and Frigga. It's the first time I share pictures on this forum, so bear with me if there are problems viewing them...

He's an immensely laid-back puppy. He was born December 31'st 2011 (same day as my Girlfriends birthday, so I might be able to remember both now :-D) and is more or less housebroken. He loves to cuddle, look at cats (doesn't chase them), sleep next to our horse (almost to close for comfort), eat horse-manure (guess we know why he likes to sleep close to them then...) and sleep. Ohh, and obviously the occasional fit of "bats", where he charges through our rooms with his tongue trailing behind him!

When we give him something he really likes like raw lambs-leg, he usually bark/growls while running around with his tail waggling like there was no tomorrow, and offering it to us, to show how happy he is (my explanation anywho).

Ohh, and the other day I had to go to a meeting, so I tried leaving him in the car, praying he wouldn't eat everything. When I came back 40 mins later, he was soundly asleep, and hadn't done anything wrong! (Yes, I'm proud of my pup - sorry, but I have to share!)

Ah, there is Saxon Radomir, or Yngwie! He was my favourite of the Saxon litter! I always loved his expression. I am very curious how he will grow up. I hope you will keep us posted!! You are so lucky to have him, I'm jealous! :D

- Snuggle-bug
- Danish national day - 5. June - Yngwie met a marching band for the first time. He rather enjoyed that :)
- At farm fair - met cows for the first time and was petted by several hundred people who thought he was a wolf and very handsome
- Outdoors naptime on a sunny day
- 26. May - 5 months old. Line dancer

Yngwie went with Niels Christian to a Warhammer RPG scenario for three days - Yngwie played the part of a wolf cub and was rather good at playing the part. He even had his own costume - a brown leather collar instead of his regular one :)

He experienced people who yelled and fought and argued and an alchemist set off a loud firecracker just outside the inn, where Yngwie was sleeping on the floor. He just looked up at NC who remained calm, and so Yngwie just went back to sleep again.

The rain was coming down thick their last day so NC took him home and wanted to wash off the mud before going to bed, but Yngwie was so tire that he fell asleep in the shower with his head on NC's arm - I wish I had a picture of that :D

Update from Yngwie (Saxon Radomir) at 16 months.

He now weighs 38 kg and stands 69 cm at the shoulder.
Yngwie16months.jpg
He is well into his teens with a bit of teenage deafness as a side effect,
but we'll be working on off leash recall all summer with the help of a personal trainer.
NC&Yngwie_lick.jpg
He's still a big snugglebug who loves human contact - not just from us, but also from random children we meet in our village who want to talk to the "wolf" :)
The other day he had 5 little girls pet him at once, and he was in heaven.
NC&Yngwie_mouthfart.jpg
NC and Yngwie are never far from each other - I don't know who loves the other one the most :)
LiseogYngwiegoTerryR_StineVejen.jpg
Recently I took him to a small party at a friend's appartment - my doggy sitter fell through, but my friend loves dogs, so she insisted, I bring him.
He has handled large groups of people excellently before, and this evening was no exception. He donned a bow tie and his dancing paws and had a wonderful evening.

My friends boyfriend plays the horn and tried to teach Yngwie - I think Yngwie just liked the smell of the mouth piece. Yummy coffee smells...
Pål og Yngwie.jpg
That's it from Yngwie for now.

Thank you for your kind comments.

We too think he's turned out rather handsome - but what we tell each other almost every day is that we can't believe how sweet a dog he is.
We had never met a Tamaskan before we got our own, so we didn't know exactly what to expect, but we've been pleasently surprised :D
