but one of the many advantage of labrador (I had a wonderfull one :p) is their "waterproof" fur. I've often noticed how rapidly a labrador (or any cross-breed with a water-dog), was dryied, between them, sheperd by exemple stay wet a lot longer.

That's true! I like them too, but the lab mix from my sister is also very crude/coarse (don't know if that's the right description, I used a translator) and we are always covered with mud when we walked with him and have at least one bruise. And the only dog my friend has owned before Mila is our other dog Rhodin. And he hates to be filthy. He walks around puddles, he never plays in the mud and he only swims in clear water. He doesn't even play with wet or filthy dogs. He likes to keep his coat white. Such a wimp!

that would be a dog for me lol, an aristo-dog

I use to learn to my dog (and other ones) how to "shake up" at the order, it's really usefull, because I can make it shake juste when it goes out of the water, far from me lol

I have never had a dog who was such a wimp as Rhodin is, but I have to say that I like it. It's quite handy. He stays white all the time and doesn't want to walk when it's raining.
And thank you for the tip. Can use it with Mila I think. She can shake up already, but not under command:

Thank you for your reactions! Yes, she loves the water and getting dirty. She is lots of fun!

I have made some more pictures, where she was better in sitting still. I like her colour very much, does somebody know if that stays the same or is it going to change more? She is really getting more wolfy every day, we are very happy with her.

Mila is almost 4,5 months, so it is time to give some new updates. :D She is doing very well and is a lovely puppy. Because of the bad weather last week I haven't made a lot of pictures, will update some more if I have new ones. ;)

Image

Meeting other dogs, she is very well-behaved around them, which I'm very happy with.

Got it! :D

And this is how her coat looks now, does anybody know if it is going to change more in length and colour or will it stay this way?

She's growing beautifully. Hard to believe she was a little mudball a little while ago.

As for her coat, our girls both had the blonde around their necks until they were about 4 months. Then over the course of a couple of days the guard hairs grew in and darkened their necks. I wouldn't be surprised if something similar happened to Mila relatively soon.

She is growing very nicely :) as for her coat, don't know if it will be the same but with Ulric it stayed the same length but he grew more under-coat so his fur looked a little longer, lighter, and fluffier.

Boreal wrote:Hehe what a sweetie. She looks like a troublemaker ;) How easy has it been to train her?
She is a bit of a troublemaker in these pictures, but most of the time she is very sweet. ;) It has been easy to train her I guess, but I am a trainer at a dog school teaching the puppies there, so it would be weird if I had a lot of troubles. ;)
She is clean in the house, she doesn't pee any more inside for a few weeks now, sometimes she does have an accident, mostly when we are at somebody else's place  and sometimes she forgets to pee because she is playing. It looks like staying home alone is going better too, she hasn't destroy anything. She only destroys things we give her and that's okay. If we tell her to stop or release the thing she has in her mouth she will do that immediately, already from the moment she came with us. And what I find so sweet is that she comes for a cuddle very often and wants to lick your face. Her tail is always wagging when she sees us.
She is good of the lead and doesn't go out of sight and comes when she is called, even when there are other dogs for example, she will still follow us. But she stays nearby, she won't come close to collect a treat. There is no treat that is better than walking around free I believe. She can learn tricks easily, although she has to be motivated, and that is the key thing in training her. If it is boring or if the treat isn't good enough she won't do anything. She has an attitude  and is independent, I found out I have to get used to this and it takes some creativity. Unlike other people at the puppytraining who give their puppies the same treats all the time, I have to run and play as a treat, have a toy on a string and super delicious treats besides normal treats. And than she will do it very well and be concentrated for almost an hour. ;) She doesn't pull on the leash, we trained her from the beginning. She has a lovely temperament and is a sweetheart.
Most difficult now is her hunting instinct because she wants to chase cats, birds, insects and other little things. And the problem is that those animals are here a LOT. That's something we have to train very well. ;)

I thought Konah was red grey cause she looks very red to me.. ?
.. more red than Nova anyway .. and she is also wolf grey.

Red grey or wolf grey.... they are beautiful dogs :D
Well she has a bit of reddish tints in her coat but not much. It may also look like that because of the light of the pictures etc. If I compare her to the red greys (Jackal, Geri, and also sister Timba for example) then you can see that Konah isn't a red grey.
