the runs

Post by CSpiker86 » Thu Apr 19, 2012 4:37 pm

so my poor Alucard has a case of diarrehea for the last 2 days :| anyone no of some home remedys to help my boy out? Ive read around about not feeding him for the next 24hrs to clear his system out :| He still acts like his usual self except for the runs. Hes unfortunetly had 2 accidents, 1 outside on the patio and the 2nd while he was in his kennel. Any advice would help.

I've read that also feeding raw pumpkin can do well for to help solidify poos too.

Yes but not too much! Rice does work as well (plain white rice) as well as cooked chicken breast with no seasoning. Feed several small meals rather than 2 large ones.

I also heard banana works, but you have to be careful with it because it can bind them too much and cause constipation. :? Obviously, I need someone to verify this. lol.

depending on the size of the dog...but be very careful with Banana because it backs them up and gives them gas like no other :P learned that the hard way!

I thought it's the squash that solidifies the manure. :? Don't pumpkins normally promote softer feces?

Sweet Potato's work nicely raw, steamed, or baked.

Just for future info, I usually give only peeled, boiled potatoes and some white fish if they're ever like this. :)
