Lost and Found

Post by ASaroka » Sat Jan 31, 2015 9:55 am

I didn't know where to post this, or if this is even a tamaskan dog, but one of my friends who know I'm into Tamaskans told me one was available at the SPCA in Pittsburgh. The dog is just labeled "GSD mix".

Did anyone send a dog to Pittsburgh?

The dog in question is no longer on the site. My guess is most likely that the could could have been just a German Shepherd mix since the Tamaskan community is so close that we would have heard if one had gone missing and ended up in a shelter.
Because the breed is still developing, you may come across northern breed mixes that look similar to Tamaskans, but you will not find these dogs in shelters as breeders microchip their pups and have contracts that if for any reason a dog can not stay with the family, they must be returned to the breeder.

That's good to know! I was concerned that maybe it was from one of the less reputable ones that are popular that may have gotten loose. Glad someone picked her up. That shelter has a high turnover rate :?
