<sigh> As a health coach and a Nurse, I learned long ago that you don't get to pick what someone else wants. No matter how good it would be for them or those around them. It's not about being persuasive. It about being motivating. People only make changes *they* want to make for *their* own reasons....

For what it's worth, I hiked the Hocking Hills of Ohio with a boxer mix and all over rugged terrain in Alaska with a lab mix. Neither dog was ever reckless around cliffs. The lab just matter-of-factly gave them a wide berth with no drama but the boxer looked like he was nursing a stomach ulcer ever...
