Re: Tamaskans in dog team

Thanks Blustag for the other titles. A couple more good stories (recounts) of dog sled experiences are "Running North" and "My lead dog is a Lesbian". Yes that is the title and it is a well written and humerous story. We named our Rainy after the lead dog in the book. I know what the moving/selling ...

Re: Tamaskans in dog team

Yes BC has a ministry of environment as well as fish and wildlife and forestry divisions. Have you read, MUSH by the Sierra Dog drivers? It is older but a good resource for sledding. I have a couple others on skijoring and dog sledding. I will check the titles etc and post them later this week. For ...

Re: Tamaskans in dog team

Thanks, The forum is great. I am learning quite a bit about the breed and hope to make some solid contacts for pups in the future. I am glad Freyja has taken to the harness well. We have been running dogs in harness for 15 years (small groups, the most we have ever had is 6 dogs). Skijoring, bikejor...

Re: National Tamaskan Club of Canada

Great home page. We look forward to the Canadian Club taking off. Keep us posted on the site's development. We are in PG, BC Canada and are actively searching to adopt a couple Tamaskan pups. We will be interested in becoming part of the association. We have dogs right now, just not Tamaskans. We ha...

Tamaskans in dog team

Hi, We are new to Tamaskans but have 4 Alaskan Huskies. We have been researching and are now actively looking for a Tamaskan pup. This question is for those of you who may have dogsledding experience. Our dogs are larger than typical modern sprint racing dogs. Their height and size will match up wel...

Re: HI from BC, Canada - looking for Tamaskans

Thank you to everyone for responding. For you, jyotin, it is interesting. Your posted pic looks exactly like one of our girls, Chinook, as a pup. Unfortunately she passed at 12.5 years due to cancer in January. However that photo is exactly like a puppy photo we have of her. Thank you. Great memorie...

HI from BC, Canada - looking for Tamaskans

Hi everyone, We are new to this forum and Tamaskans but not dogs. We currently have 4 Alaskan Huskies. We have been researching northern breeds for a new generation for our family. The Tamaskans seem so ideal for our outdoor lifestyle! We would love to get to know the breeders and would hope to be a...
