Re: Elevator Speech

Hahaha, yes I've used the short version many of times ;)

So, I always thought they followed your old slogan? Or do you mean, just some may have wolf content but still aren't a wolf-breed?

Elevator Speech

Everyone knows what an elevator speech is, right? Be able to explain a topic in a detailed manner, but kept short enough to be able to pitch in the time of an elevator ride. Hence the name elevator speech :) Anyway, after immersing myself in the Tam community for the past year or so as much as I can...

Re: Floppy ears

I understand. It just made me laugh because it would take an awesome wolf-looking dog and give it a more innocent image, in my opinion :P I can't see a tamaskan dog breeder wanting to pass on genes that were far off from the tamaskan breed standard

Re: Floppy ears

No way Jo! So if you mate Zelda with a tam that also has the recessive trait, we may get some floppy eared pups :D

He's so cute!!!!! And fluffy!!! Well that's interesting, but for some reason soft ears kind of match him! Anyway, that's sad that his whereabouts are unknown :(

Re: Floppy ears

Okay good :)

Ahh, thank you!! :D Yes, I am more than excited to get him :)!!

But I still am curious, has there ever been a tamaskan in any of the TDR litters with "soft" ears? I know that curly tails are a slightly more common breed standard deviation, but wasn't sure about the ears

Floppy ears

Hey all! I know that the breeding standard for a tamaskan is for the dog to have ears that stand up. Has there ever been a tamaskan with floppy ears, though? I am getting my first tam (yey!!) from saxon's last litter before retiring frigg a, and in early pictures, Samson's ears were up. However, at ...

@HiTenshi16 -- yes very helpful! Which, by the way, even if that video wasn't helpful....I still would have loved it <3!!!! What a cutie :) @Karen -- Well I guess that's a good thing! Wouldn't want groggy puppies :) But are the people taking the animals out trained? Does it need to be a certain type...

Re: quarantine question for shipping over seas

Well that's good! I was under the impression that any animal coming to the US from outside the states would have to be quarantined. Awhh, how long did both those flights take? Do they put the puppies to sleep when they do this? I wonder how they eat/go to the bathroom! Because it sounds like it woul...

quarantine question for shipping over seas

Hello!

I was hoping to get some insight to any breeders who have experience shipping over seas. Around how long does the tamaskan puppy have to be quarantined coming INTO the US from elsewhere? Also, how much does it typically cost?

thanks :D

Re: General Health Tests

@arianwenarie - Okay, yeah, I read it wrong the first time -_-" haha okay, so an "F" could be matched with a "G". I think I get it now, thank you!! :)

So TDR pretty much adds more as different genetic disorders come up, huh? DM looks so awful :(

Thank you as well for more info!

Re: General Health Tests

Wow, thank you so much Weylyn! What a brief, yet detailed explination....that was perfect!
I was so worried my question wouldn't be simple to answer :P

So to test myself....looking at OFA scores, a dog that scored E could be breed with a dog that scored an F according to TDR?

General Health Tests

Hey all! Okay, so I know a parts of my question are already answered in some of the topics under "health" but my question is a bit more broad, so please bear with me :) First of all, what are the general health issues tested for and why? From the breeders I have seen in TDR, most test for the follow...
