Re: Rough play

Have you tried replacing the aggressive play with obedience training or other non-aggressive play? What I am trying to allude to is, when she starts to get rough, grab some treats and work on basic obedience work such as sit, heal, down and other types of mental stimulation. This will more than lik...

Rough play

Tallulah is now six months. She has her usual bouts of craziness but we have noticed she is playing much rougher than usual. She'll jump on us, swat with her paws, bite, bark and seems to think our eight year old is a giant toy. Sometimes we are able to redirect her but there are times we have to pu...

Re: Bad breath

With sam having SA, he sometimes 'goes' in the house and since he stopped eating it, he's started shredding paper and, pretty accurately for a dog, placing it on the top, one by one to covet it up... He also tried to cover poop and pee outside, guess it's better than eating lol That is so funny!!!

We love her! I can't believe we have only had her for three months. She is spoiled rotten!!! I've started giving her raw treats and she is loving them! The little bugger runs to the kitchen whenever she hears the freezer door open, or the ice machine for that matter

I agree! Everytime I look at her I see him, just with a petite head :) I know children take on their parents characteristics but didn't realize dogs did as well! Maybe because a lab is a lab, a spaniel is a spaniel. Tamaskans are so unique!!!!

Re: Bad breath

I believe I just found the reason behind her bad breath. I caught her eating poop. Apparently she thinks the frozen turds are Popsicles! I clean up when I see the piles, but as snow comes and goes it can be tough to keep up. And on top of that she is going in random spots all over the yard, that is ...

Does anyone's Tamaskan have bad breath? Tallulah's breath is just foul! I don't know if it is from the teething or possible health issue.

We use ASPCA pet insurance. They were actually the only company that had the Tamaskan breed listed. I was also able to get a package that included shots, and heartgard and flea & tic. I just quoted an 8-week Tamaskan on both. 90% reimbursement bronze, $200 deductible for Petplan. Level 2 ASPCA. ASP...

I saw the pup today. She looks more like 12 weeks, still has soft fluffy puppy fur. Obviously the guy got the age wrong! Def looks like a Tamaskan. Tamaskans in Massachusetts

Being Tallulah is an only dog, and we do not have any dog parks around I was looking into doggie daycare's to socialize her. My Vet referred me to Petopia in Leominister, MA. I told the gentleman she is a Tamaskan, and he said he has a 16 month old that attends doggie daycare :o. I'm curious if anyo...

Tallulah just went for her final puppy wellness visit. At 16 weeks she is 33 pounds and 20 inches tall. If I did the math right it converts to 15kg and 50cm.
It seems like yesterday we brought home a little bundle of fur!

Tallulah made her first real howl this morning!!! Because it is pouring I didn't bring her to the school bus stop with us. When I came in to the house alone she stood at the door howling, looking for our seven year old son. It was so sweet!

I noticed while Tallulah and I were playing fetch/chase today the hair on the back of her neck would raise when she went into the play stance, but go down as soon as we started running around. I am relieved to hear I do not have the only pup that loves to nip and bite! Hello from Massachusetts

Hi! My husband and I are new to the forum and proud owners of a Tamaskan pup! We brought home 8 week old Tarheel Scarlet (aka Tallulah) in October. It was a whirlwind roundtrip from MA to NC due to hurricane Sandy. Our family is pretty typical. We have a very active 7 year old son who Tallulah can w...
